Sara’s position at Watts involves answering the phones, taking orders, organizing the daily vault schedule, payroll processing, and being the friendly face you see when you walk in.

“I’ve always enjoyed helping people, so this job has been a great fit for me,” Sara says. She brings a wealth of work experience to Watts, from staying at home with her children while owning a daycare, to loading trucks at UPS, to director of children's ministry at her church, working in the financial world, and then as a job recruiter. She’s truly done it all!

Now working in death care, Sara understands that everyone grieves differently and in their own time. She says, “Once you understand that, you can have sympathy for others. We’re all human, just helping each other on our walk home.”

Originally from Norwalk, Sara now lives in Des Moines, where she loves the growing community with a small-town feel. Away from work, Sara enjoys biking, live local music, discovering new restaurants and breweries, and theater. Travel is always on her agenda. Whether on a road trip in her jeep or a flight to Rome, Sara loves meeting new people and experiencing different foods and cultures.

First and foremost, Sara is a mom to three amazing humans and now has moved to the level of being Grammy, which she calls “simply the best!”
